I can't decide what color uniform I am going to wear.

You're definitely a redshirt.

You guys missed a great movie in a relatively empty theater!

Go see this on a big screen in Digital!!!

I don't think anybody realized it opened at 7PM on a Thurs. For the first DLP showing in the largest theater at Park Lane it was maybe 1/3 full. I bet it will be packed over the weekend.

Just as Casino Royale revived a tired James Bond franchise, this movie will do so with Star Trek IMHO.

It was Captain Kirk Begins. And that's a good thing IMO.

Which theaters around here would be considered "big screen" and "digital"? Also which ones have the best sound? I am usually disappointed with Sparks and Riverside?

I am looking forward to Terminator #4 too. Looks badass in the trailers.

Dean 2009-05-08 06:04 AM

If you look at the listings on Cinemark.com, it lists the theaters as "DLP (Digital Projection) Showtimes". These are the largest of the theaters with the new high end projectors and best sound systems. Same ones they show the 3D movies in.

Thanks. Nice info. Evidently Riverside has no DLP, and therefore my oft disappointment there. If I am going to pay that much for a movie I want it to sound better than my home setup.

Dean 2009-05-08 06:38 AM

Correct, Riverside does not have any DLP screens. They are convenient, cheap and often have smaller crowds, but don't have the best theaters.

Each of the other 3 multiplexes only have one I believe so the 3D and newest releases fight for them reducing the number of showings of each.

Okay, just got done seeing Star Trek...Phenomenal Movie...Seriously, awesome. I enjoyed every bit of it.

100_Percent_Juice 2009-05-16 05:48 AM

It was really good. Action packed and pretty funny.

Dean, I think you should start a T4 thread now so we can prepare for that movie!
