Is it possible to leave it married to your ECU and still sell it? Or would you have to completely divorce it to sell it? :?:

You can leave it married and then sell it, but then you'd be an ass.

You could sell it for a reduced price. People buy them at a greatly reduced price because for something like, $100 (not sure on the exact amount), Cobb will "divorce" it.

So then if my friend sold it to me he would be an ass. Then if I bought it I would be a dumbass. Right?

And how does cobb do it? or how much?

What Dean's talking about is similar to Cobb's Protuner software, but free. Cobb's Protuner license stipulates that tuners can't also tune with OS software. However, some tuners have picked up software that's not opensource, just cheap as hell so you don't even need to pay for a licence, just the tune. The AP does make map switching easier though.
