Sounds like he's either planning on reselling it immediately for a profit (instead of just helping the OP find a buyer), or he's planning on chucking it in a lathe.

actually i have another buddy who doesnt get on forums and isnt around too much so its easier if i buy it and then sell it to him for what i paid for it. it makes his life easier and i help out two people at once. sometimes i try to help people out, esp when theyre friends
