Bloody Crims

Some stand up crim broke into my Jeep and nicked my CD player, thankfully properly removing the center console, disconnecting it from the harness, then putting the console back. Little does he know it was rubbish and didn't work. I found it terribly amusing.

This raised a question. How often does someone's car get broken into? In the 8 years I've been driving I've had my cars broken into 7 times. Is that a lot?

Yea... That's alot..

Once for me, and it was Christmas for them.

*sigh*

Bob, when did you start speaking like Mary Poppins?

Those savages stole my tobacco pipes! I should have seen it coming.

moose 2009-06-14 08:26 PM

Oh no, what are you going to do now Bob? We shall call Sherlock and have him investigate.

Zip it lunchbox.

I have never had a vehicle broken into, only vandalized, which I think is just as bad. I don't have a cd player in my subaru anymore. I just hook my ipod directly to the amp under my seat. I have come to the conclusion that if I have something that is worth more than $100 and I can't bolt it down to my car, I won't have it in my car. If someone can get the amp from under my seat then they obviously came prepared.

LAME!!

The inop. CD player is comedy gold though!

Probably going to screw myself for saying this, but stock stereos and no visible CDs FTMFW.

Zero break ins in 20+ years.

Actually kind of surprised the V1 hasn't ever been swiped.

I did have a 50cc scooter stolen in college, but it was recovered 2 years later, but I did not want it back.

Crimes only happened to my STi.
1 break in (my own dumb fault for leaving stuff in plain sight)
1 car theft and vandalism (it was totaled)

The only break-in I ever suffered was losing the stock OEM radio from my '84 Celica 6 or 7 years ago. Didn't give a damn about the stereo, but the jackass spent more time shattering half of the console plastics and cutting the harness than it would have taken to bring along a screwdriver and unplug it.
