WTB: Axel Back for '06 Forester XT

So, my mom owns a Forester XT and decided that she likes the way subarus sound with modified exhausts. Does anyone have an axel back that'll fit an '06 forester XT and will bring out the subaru growl?

Does anyone have any tips about it too? I dont know if the XT has UELs or EL headers so that may also be something the think about when looking to get that growl.

Thanks!
Jake

I'm pretty sure that the FXT uses the same exhaust setup as all the other pre-'09 turbo Subies. So basically any turbo catback or axleback you come across on a forum should work.

Your Mom sounds pretty cool.

In MY 2008 the exhaust layout changed on turbo Imprezas, not sure about the FXT. Freeway drone and excessive exhaust noise probably isn't her thing so try to find an axleback that isn't super loud. I don't know if there would be a point of going with a CBE if everything else is staying stock. There's probably a resonator in the rear pipe that will help keep things quiet too, so I'd just go for an axleback.

At the same time, don't go too quiet. When we first put my Borla Hush CBE on, the rest of the exhaust was stock and it barely added any volume at all. It was only a touch more burbly. But now with the DP, HFC midpipe, and UP, it's perfect. Not too loud, but def. not stock.

Check out the FXT boards. I don't think any stock manifolds on turbo Subarus are EL from the factory.

If they fit, the Megan racing cat backs sound great and have a removable silence at the tip that lets you really tone it down for a long trip or something.

The more and more I look, the more expensive it gets, does anyone have a simple axel back that'll just bolt up?
