Rear Porterfield R4-S Pads and Front Callipers for WRX and More
 

I've got some used R4-S pads for the rear brakes off an 04 WRX. I'm pretty sure they're hardly worn at all. They won't fit my 03 WRX calipers but due to midyear changes, may fit some. I'm really not sure. $20

Front WRX calipers. I bought them from Andy for $25 but it turned out I don't need them. $25

I also have a used K&N filter with a mostly used K&N cleaning/oiling kit. $15

After the last autocross, I'll have 6 Enkei RP02's (17X7.5 ET48 Silver) for sale. 4 of them will have 225/45/17 RE-01R s worn to the tread bars (20% left?) that are still very sticky and 2 of them will have old not-sticky-anymore Azenis RT-615's in the same size as the Bridgestones. These two make great full size spairs and have come in handy during autocrosses out of the area. The wheels weigh only 15.5lb according to Edge Racing, where I bought them. I really like those wheels. Those are the same ones moose has I think. Cody trade me for my stockers and winter tires.

Thanks. They are sweet and even come with centercaps, lugs, stickers, valvestems, hubcentric rings, etc.

Wait, you're getting rid of 17x7.5 RP02's for 17x8 RPF1's? Don't they weigh basically the same, and both fit the same size tires (since you're limited by wagon fenders rather than by wheel width)? Seems like a silly upgrade unless you're doing it solely for looks.

The RPF1's are a touch lighter, a touch wider and I should be able to fit 245/40/17 since my fenders are roled and the RPF1's have a 45 offset.

And yes, they come in black, which I like better than silver. :P

Hrm. I'm surprised that 3mm offset makes the difference between 225s and 245s. If that's the case, a 3mm spacer would be all you need for 245's on your current wheels... that and a couple rattle cans of flat black. :P

:lol: I hear ya, but I was thinking that the 245's would be a little wide for the 7.5" wide rims. Totally doable, but not ideal.

The 3mm difference in offset actually puts them closer to the fenders, but I think I'll need it to clear my stock shaped struts. I test fit Matt R's (same wheel/tire setup I'm going for) at the fender rolling party and they seemed to fit just right.

:mad: Now wait a minute!!! I have never rattle canned a wheel in my life, but have had 2 or three sets powder coated, and bought 2 new full sets of RPF1s of which someone (Scott) desperately "booughrrowed" for a year or so...

Senior cheap bastard is about bang for the buck, not just cheap for cheap's sake and pays for quality and performance where appropriate. :P

RPF1's in 17X8 weigh 15.6Lb (almost a pound less) and they're half an inch wider. (Source)

I don't mind opening it up for discussion though. If y'all think that 245/40/17's will be just fine on a 7.5" wide rim. I'll just keep them and rattle can them like Scott's suggesting.

245's will be a bit wide on a 7.5"... but not really any worse than 255's are on an 8", which work pretty well. My point was that the shoulders of a 245 on either rim should be in the same location if you've got a 3mm spacer on the RP02's, and that the RP02's aren't much different in weight and strength as the RPF1's. Hell, even aesthetically, the RP02's are good looking wheels...

So, I'm not trying to say that the "upgrade" to RPF1's isn't worth it, just that from a pure performance standpoint, the gains will be minor since the RP02's are pretty good wheels performance-wise. But if you like the RPF1's just for looks, or really want that little extra bit of performance, go for it.

I approve the move to new wheels.

Nobody's buying my shiz though and I have to buy a new ABS sensor so I'll probably just keep 'em. :(

actually if you still have the rims later on in the year i may buy them off you!!

Are the front calipers the same as for RS/TS?

I don't know. I can check though.

$45 for the rear pads and front calipers, since I have no use for them.

$80 for the front pads, since I don't really want to sell them.
