Pics from the "Cruise-aru"

For all those "Busters" that said they were going on the cruise but didn't, you missed out. It was a great time and it was nice to meet some new people. We'll have to do it again soon, maybe in the spring.

Anyway, here are some pics. Nothing special, it's hard to take rolling shots at 70-80 mph on I-80 toward Sac in a Subaru with coilovers in harsh mid-day sun, LOL. Oh well....

Looks like fun, I dunno about the paint job on that poor RS though.

Hey man, that was the first time I ever played with paint. And the trunk was screwed up when I bought it. I think we will both be happy to see it with a different paint job soon.

I wasn't taking issue with the quality of the paint work just the, uh, unique design. Nice to hear it will get a repaint at some point.

P.S. Braille is on drive-thru ATMs because it's cheaper to manufacture the same keys for every unit rather than design, manufacture, and keep inventory of smooth keys just for drive-thrus.

Damn it, I missed this!!! I seriously wanted to go too. :( Well it looks like you guys/gal had fun.

Cool shots. Thanks for taking/posting them.

Just a suggestion in case you didn't know.

If instead of just "img" in the first tag, you can use "img=WIDTH" where WIDTH is a number of pixels wide, say 400-600, so the thread doesn't take as long to load. e.g. [img=400}htttp://blah.com/picture.jpg[/img} (wrong trailing brackets used to thwart TAG sucking)

^Sounds like someone is upset about their slow internet.

Nick Koan 2009-11-24 06:34 AM

Nah, it still downloads the whole picture, it just forces the browser to scale them.

I'm pretty sure Scott said his code caches the reduced image on SECCS, your browser only grabs the whole thing if you click on it.

Here is his original post, but it doesn't really say. Definitely a better description than mine though.

Awesome, thanks for the tip! I fixed them and they seem to be loading faster. Thanks

Nick Koan 2009-11-24 07:19 AM

If you use the seccs gallery, it caches thumbnails and lower res images.

But, on the forums, when your are doing images inline from another host, the width reduction only sets the html width attribute on the img tag. It still downloads the full picture, but forces the browser to resize it.

I believe you, but the page sure loads way faster now. Maybe that is "paint time" not download time.

Nick Koan 2009-11-24 07:41 AM

Also, the pictures are quite nice. Good job to whoever took them.

Clear your cache and try again, it will be slower.

Like Nick said, the IMG=SIZE only resizes the image inline in the browser, and is only for formatting. It does not change the size of the image.
