Weekend Thunderhill driving event 1/9-10

Per the request at the last meeting, I wanted to keep folks apprised of track events with other clubs and such at least that I am involved in.

January 9-10 there is a two day HPDE/PDX type event at Thunderhill with the Audi Club. An Audi is not required, but Audi club membership is. ($44/yr)

Thunderhill is one of the best learning tracks, and the Audi club has some great instructors, especially for those of you with AWD cars. I will the intermediate/advanced chief instructor.

Full details are here:

The entry fee is $450 for the 2 day school. This includes everything necessary for a weekend of learning more about yourself and your car. Tech, Friday night reception at Thunderhill Raceway, classroom materials, classroom instruction, on track instruction, lunch on Saturday and Sunday, also Saturday night banquet , and auction (great bargains), at The Old HWY 99 Steakhouse (formerly Pat N’ Larrys Steak House) and don't forget, the two days of on track driving.

It really is even with the membership cost which is good for a full year of Audi events.

The only things not covered are breakfast, gas and lodging. If you share a room, that is only about $25/night/person.

If you do sign up and have been to a number of track events, but not with Audi, let me know and I can work at getting you in the right run group and my class. ;)

This could have very well been a statement to the public but in case it was directed at me I must let you know I can't attend this track day as I'm (still...) in Iraq. Next season though!

It was, but no big deal.
