1st Annual SECCS X-Mas Gift Exchange!

Anyone wanna do a gift exchange?

We got two weeks till the Dec 18th meet which is the closest date to XMas. Bring a wrapped Subaru related gift, costing under $10, to the meet, and we'll draw names to exhange gifts!

Good idea? Or is it too close to XMas already?

ArthurS 2003-12-03 02:51 PM

Lol...I am 2 of these things already. But if we get enough people, I am down to do it.

MattR 2003-12-03 03:24 PM

Sounds good...People need to commit though, and it should be cool.

sperry 2003-12-03 03:45 PM

As long as 2 or more people show up with gifts it'll work. :)

I like my new title, hahaha, I'll find a way

This would be fun.

Last night while I was driving home I saw some beautifully decorated homes up from North McCarren. I wonder, does anyone else like seeing Christmas lights too, if so, another fun idea would be to hold a viewing caravan some night before Christmas.

We used to have a great xmas light display at my old neighborhood in San Ramon. It got so competative, that they eventually made rules and classes and had awards....

The best award: "Highest Electric Bill", I guess some people were getting into the thousands of dollars on their bills to pay for all the electricty. The displays got so popular it could take 15 minues to drive the block and a half from my house to the main street due to all the traffic from all around the Bay Area.

Our house won "Best Traditional" a few years in a row... my mom hung real evergreen wreaths in all the windows with electric candles, and we put simple white lights in all the bushes. The simplicity won the judges over I guess, since it was a nice change from the motorized santas and neon Baby Jesus' everyone else was doing... (anyone remember the 1st season Simpson's XMas episode?)

That sounds fun. Hidden Valley here in Reno gives awards and has rules also. The same street wins almost every year for the best of show award....they even named the street candy cane lane or something like that.

Hidden Valley owns all.
