WTB: Tires (4)summer

looking to buy some 225/45/17s or 235/40/17s. I just realized i need summer tires. I just purchased a new set for the Audi(235/45/17) last month and forgot to get some for the Subie.

Thanks

Do you care if they've been autocrossed to death and they're down to the wear bars?

You know what though, Maybe I might get away with using the old Audi tires(from changing over to the winters) I have sitting in my garage since I am still on stock (4x4) suspension. They're 235/45/17.

Sure, and you don't need tread for the Summer, IMHO.

Unless what you're actually posting is "WTB: Some cheap used tires I can get by on for a bit"... because I don't think anyone here is a tire retailer.

 Thanks, the Audi summers have at least 30% left which I was just gonna toss anyways.

It's "Smart ass" comments like this, that's turned me off from the meets there "BOSS."
Obviously I knew tire rack was the next option.

It just sounded odd to hear "I just bought some tires but now I need to buy some off the forums" without any explaination about why you're not just ordering up another set from the store.

BOO, what tires did you get for the Audi? Man you go through tires fast.

I was going to say buying tires for spring/summer does not make much sense unless you are down to slicks/cord or need wet traction for the occasional thunderstorm.

While 3/32nds is the legal limit, there is plenty life in most tires still at that level as long as they are evenly worn.

And old snows are good to burn up as well. They have wear bars usually at 5-6/32" which are the end of the winter compound/trad and are OK to run all summer after that. they are nothing special, but work...

Thanks Dean, I do have summers and winters, but my summers didn't last that long(And were down to the cords) since I do drive a lot. I went and got some from the tire rack already anyways.

Which reminds me I need to get my set of 05 bronze wrx wheels over to Khail's.

I've got some brand new Bridgestone Re-01's, never been mounted in a 245-40-17. I'll make you a smokin deal.

damn that's not a bad option for autoX, how come you're not mounting them?

how much?

I'm thinking of going to 255's instead. Thinking $500 or offer.
