wagon with sedan fenders
Has any one seen a hawkeye wagon with sedan fenders and bumper? I have seen the bugeyes and the peanut wagons with the sedan fenders and was wondering if you could do the conversion on the hawkeye. Thanks for your input

I don't think there are any issues with converting front fenders between sedan and wagon of any style. It's the rear fenders that are basically a ton of custom body work regardless of style.

Thanks i thought so i just wasn't sure.

It doesn't look good IMHO. I would like to do the sedan front track width mod though.

How do youo do that?

I'm sure there are newer threads than that one, but the info is there. |
That does look pretty good. I think what I hate is when only the front fenders are sedanized.

I almost did the f+r fender on my wagon until I found out how much it was going to cost. Just labor on the rear was well over $3k with paint. And then source rear doors, front fenders/liners, bumper, rear 1/4s. Scratched that idea real quick.

You might as well just buy a 2011 WRX hatch which will have monster fenders.

You are a bugeye owner as I am, surely you didn't honestly mean that!!! I don't care for the new body style much, even the wheels are ugly. I really wish they would have offered our MY wagons with moonroofs and heated leather though.

I like it more than I've initially liked other years. I think it will be like the MY 06-07 face in that, it will grow on me. The reason I probably will skip one is the open rear diff, and the ongoing piston ring land issues that all 2.5L Suby motors appear to have. If they cleared up those two issues, I'd have a hard time keeping myself from picking one up.
That said, I love wagons and the 5 door lacks the wagon action that I love. And yes, those wheels are awful. Personally, I can't do a sunroof as I'm way too tall, and leather would seem out of place in my car, plus it burns in the Summer. |
