Holy crap that mag blue is cool looking. Not that I have anything that would look good in it, but it's pretty crazy nice looking.

garage.works 2010-06-14 10:26 PM

it's actually a "patented" color by Volk. But lucky for me I'm with a supplyer that has the mixture. It's a very popular color for sure.

Have you done a wrinkle red? Matches Subaru STI intake manifold?

What is your normal turn-around time?

Can the ceramic coatings take the heat of a pre-turbo exhaust (up to 1600F)? What color(s) does it come in?

garage.works 2010-06-15 07:24 AM

yes I do have wrinkle red. Normal turn around time is 4-5 business days depending on the part. Cermaic coatings can take up to 1800 deg, but the colors are very slim. White, black, silver, chrome.

It depends on the coating used and the caliper. I probably wouldn't do it on race brakes that see 800F... but most people probably never get their brakes over 300F - 400F, and certainly not for extended periods of time.

A1337STI 2010-06-15 03:23 PM

How much for 4 Rims?

and do you have any Insanely bright shiny gold colors?

05widesti 2010-06-15 08:18 PM

Also interested in getting my 4 rims done there 17 inches and also want gold

garage.works 2010-06-15 09:19 PM

Those brakes have been daily driven for around 3 months now, and still hold the same color and no cracking/chipping. The powder i use can take up to around 750-800 degrees as it is already!! Most people are afraid of doing calipers only because the piston and seals inside. But i just let the customer sign a waiver, stating that it may pop the piston and seal if not takin out prior to the coating.

and you both have a PM

Not now just want to check the price how much for powercoated the gokart frame. My son love Orange.

garage.works 2010-06-18 08:28 PM

I would have to charge by tubing feet for that one. Around 10 a ft

zpeed 2010-06-24 01:19 AM

Do you have to take the old paint out first? Sand Blast? How much per Ft for just a basic neon orange?

A1337STI 2010-06-24 08:22 AM

Still waiting to hear a price on 4 17X8 Rims ...

05widesti 2010-06-25 06:18 AM

They quoted me 85 dollars per rim for my stock bbs

100_Percent_Juice 2010-06-25 06:54 AM

Does that include taking the old finish off?

garage.works 2010-06-25 06:19 PM

I'm sorry, wow I thought I wrote you back. I'll check right now though.

for the go kart I would have to measure it and we would go from there.

yes all prices include stripping the old paint off as well as preping. If it needs to go with a more in depth stripping there's more options for that as well. But most don't ever need that.

100_Percent_Juice 2010-06-25 07:15 PM

How much to do an axle back exhaust in a semi-flat black?

garage.works 2010-06-26 12:26 AM

PM me and we can discuss a price. Or text me at 229 6317

03wrxwagon 2010-06-26 11:10 AM

do you use ppg paint?

garage.works 2010-06-27 08:45 PM

paint is for suckers hahah but seriously, it's nothing paint related

Picking up some exhaust manifolds that are ported and polished. How much to get them thermal coated? Do you recommend getting the stock midpipe coated too? Just the outside right? Should I drill and tap for EGT probe before or after?

Dean 2011-08-18 10:49 PM

I don't think there is any reason to coat a cast iron manifold. Put the heat shields on and be happy.

You can buy the same stuff Grimmspeed uses in a can. Spray it on, then run the car through a few heat cycles to cure it. The exhaust itself gets plenty hotter than an oven.

Interesting! I'll have to look into that. Thanks. It can't hurt to do the midpipe right? I mean worst thing that will happen is it will flake off. I assume doing the inside of any of the pipes is a really bad idea cuz if it flakes off, it goes into the turbo and then the motor.
