OBD 2 scanner help
I bought a Roadi RDT40 obd 2 scanner from Amazon. . .
It works with my '05 Impreza but not with the '00 Forester. On the Forester it just runs through the scan protocols and then tells me I have a link error. Of course the Forester is the car I need it for. . . Any ideas? I know the port works because it's been used before at the dealer and Sunrise automotive. Is there something different about the older Subarus? :?: |
I can't help you with the scanner, and realize this may be no help, but in case you didn't know Autozone will scan it for free.

I know, but I'd like to start building a collection of my own tools. :)
So, update! It was a false alarm. . . in a manner of speaking In order to get it to work on the Forester, I had to actually start the car - against all other recommendations. The instructions specifically said not to, but I tried it on a whim (intuition, maybe? :P ) and it worked like a charm. Yay for me? :~: |
