Awesome. Looks like it's ready for some off-roading. :)

Really the car wasn't in terrible shape or anything, just in worse shape than the '03 Saab we just sold, and she just couldn't see herself getting into a car that's more worn out than the one we were getting rid of. Also, the VW dealer that was selling it wouldn't accept our reasonable offer on the car, so we actually ended up paying more locally for an older car. We're pretty pleased with the one we got. It's like getting a brand new car... still has that new Subaru smell! |
Looks like a pretty good deal there. I always liked the looks of those cars.

If I remember correctly, there would be a small gap underneath the grill.
EDIT: Yeah, looks like a small gap. The OB grill is about a 1/2" taller. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...ighlight=grill http://legacygt.com/forums/showthrea...3.html?t=64703 And yeah, I'm not a fan of the 05-07 Outback grill. The rest of the minor enhancements (hood bumps, front bumper and side skirts) are all very nice though. |
I don't think I have ever seen that car before, or at least not consciously. Wagons yes, sedan, no.
Very cool car actually. Does this mean she has to come to meets now? :) Don't tell her about the switch on the top of the steering column... Make her post the "Why are my parking lights on? question on the forum. :) |
Wow, I love it, great car. What changed? How did the Subaru hatred subside enough to allow this to happen? Or did she just drive it and like it a lot?

She's just lucky this car isn't a turbo.

"It was just nicer than I expected. Plus, 'cause it's an Outback sedan, it's not the same thing as all the WRXs and Legacies and wagons everywhere. Also, it was practical (both for work and cost-wise)." Also, she keeps insisting she doesn't dislike Subarus... she just didn't want to be roped into the Subaru thing just 'cause I'm into them. But I think with the Outback sedan, she's really kinda picked her own car... I told her over and over not to get the car unless she really liked it. We were totally sold on getting a G35 sedan... but we just couldn't find a nice one at the right price. Then the outback came along and was quirky enough for her... she hates the idea of driving the same cookie-cutter BMW 330xi that everyone else in Reno drives. |
We just pick new legacy too. now I can drive Subaru to the meet.

Legacy pile on!!!!

Dude, I'm glad she found a white one, that's a really sharp-looking car.
Sorry the one down here didn't work out. I think they couldn't do much on price because they didn't take it on trade - they bought it to resell as they didn't have any AWD cars, even SUV's, on that lot. |

The best part was after I picked apart every little thing on the Subaru from my notes, he tried to do the same with the Saab to justify his low trade-in value. He told me "the windshield is chipped" (it wasn't) and "the rear brakes are nearly shot". That part of the conversation was hilarious: Salesdouche: "The rear brakes are nearly shot." Me: "The brakes are fine, they were just replaced." Salesdouche: "Well, you should probably talk to the place that did them, because there's hardly any pad left." Me: "Oh really? 'Cause when I put those pads in myself earlier today, they were brand new." Salesdouche:  I mean, I knew I was lowballing the guy on the car a bit, and I explicitly told him as much. But the only way Lisa was going to be happy with that car was if we got a raging deal on it. Like I said, it wasn't a bad car by any stretch... but it wasn't as nice as the car we were trading in on it. |
I saw one of these downtown the other day. I was honestly wondering if it was lifted.
