What a load of crap. EVO boards have some of the biggest tools on the internet.

What a waste of words, who fuckin cares if the STI is not "true" to its lines...The Evo and Sti are awesome...in their own ways...

I would be happy with either car, I just happened to end up with a Sooby, which I am totally in love with..

Someone needs to tell the author of that thread that it's SUBARU not Subura...what a pylon.

sperry 2003-12-23 09:46 PM

I didn't read much of that thread... it's an old argument.

However, did anyone bother to mention over there why the US STi is 2.5L? US (ahem... CALIFORNIA!) emmissions regulations prevent the JDM 2.0L motor from being released in the US. That's the only reason they went to 2.5L, it was the nly way to get the performance they wanted w/o violating emissions rules. Subaru wanted to release an STi in the states w/o diluting it they way they have in the past.

To put it frankly, the US STi has a 2.5L because they're trying to stay true to the "real" STi, instead of releasing a US variant that's slower than the EDM and JDM models, as was done for years before, and is still done by all the other Japanese manufacturers, Subaru actually released a US version of their rally car that does live up to expectations. In fact EVO owners should be bitching they're not rolling deep w/ a 6 speed, DCCD, and Active Yaw Control.

i read most of that post and i would have to say most ppl respect the sti, but there is one thing they forget when comparing the 2 cars. the sti would win any endurnce race against the evo. i get 275 to 300 miles per tank and even the guys at SCC will tell you the evo is lucky to get 180 miles per tank. if i was buying the car today that alone would get me into the sti because i dont see the point in stoping for gas everywhere i go especailly my trips to Sactown  any of the evo drivers that didnt like the sti are full of **** but then again they stop for gas so often the fumes must be affecting there brains

i myself like both cars but i'm glad i got the sti because the mitsu dealer didnt tell me i would need to stop in every town to get gas :P
