Intake Tempature Error?
?Anyone seen this before? running a 99 motor and sensors with a 01 ECU .. so maybe that's my problem. or maybe i have a bad sensor ... the O2s are not plugged in either .. (see other thread for that)
I'm gonna try my 99 RS ECU tomorrow to see if that doesn't clear things up ... but just fishing for ideas.. =\ grr.. swap fun ... yay .. er fail |
Clean the MAF or MAP or whatever detects intake temp?
|
lol, d'oh hadn't thought of that ... guess that's worth a shot hehehe

I wonder if this is MAF vs MAP related... I think the MAP cars have a dedicated inlet temp sensor in the intake manifold, while the MAF cars use the temp sensor built into the MAF sensor itself.
Are you just plain old missing the inlet temp sensor? I'm not aware of which years have which sensors... but you might need to pick one up... I don't think they're all that pricey. |
Dunno on the Legacy, but on the RS 98 and 99 had MAF sensors, and 00 and 01 were MAP based and had a temp. sensor in the manifold. Some Legacy's had the temp sensor in the intake. Like Scott mentioned, maybe your sensor is not there or the ECU is looking at the wrong input for it.

I'm using a 99 Sensor with an 01 ECU ... I'm thinking maybe this is my problem? i think my car "filled up" the error messages. my crew chief was expecting a few more but we aren't seeing any codes for missing O2 sensors . we did get a bunch for missing some gas tank sensors that the newer tanks have, but my 95 tank does not.
Grrr... my window of opportunity to make the rally this weekend is quickly slamming shut.. i need to go kick a puppy or something. anyone have one i can borrow? /kidding / venting |

D'oh ya i'm thinking so now. |
Yep missing sensor, i have both a 1999 ECU and a 2001 the 2001 says my air inlet sensor and my air meter are missing.
the 1999 computer says my MAF voltage is high, and limits my rpms to 3500 . since i have a 99 motor with 99 harness and sensors I'm thinking i should really go with the 99 ECU. reading rs25 it sounds like i could have bad wiring to the MAF itself (or a bad MAF) ... I'll probably check with IWire also (at the time i told him i was going with the 01) so maybe some of the wiring has to be changed now. =\ |
