My Tune

Thought I would share what I gained from my car with an STi up pipe and one gutted cat in my down pipe. Both graphs are from the same road, in 3rd gear, with a smoothing factor of 4. This is estimated wheel hp and tq. At around 3,600RPM there is a difference of about 80 tq from the stock map. The elevation was similar to here in Reno, about 4,500ft.

Nice. What do you mean by gutted?

There are two catalytic converters in the stock down pipe. The cat right after the turbo is a major bottleneck. I took it out, literally, which makes the car look and sound stock. Basically a "poor mans" stage 2. It shows how much of a difference a few simple mods and a custom tune can do to your car.

Oh I get it now. Yeah those are impressive numbers

Thanks. I love how well these cars' respond to very basic mods and a proper tune. I had a whopping $75 worth of mods and gained almost 40WHP and 60WTQ. Got to love Subarus.

Like.

Thanks. I'm tuning a guy's 02 WRX from work. I'll see if I can post his numbers when I'm finish (he has a leak in his up pipe he needs to fix...not fun)

I used to get that leak repeatedly. I'm a fan of Grimmspeed's thicker gaskets for the UP to Header connection.

he's having some fitment issues...ebay up pipe...we'll see how it goes
