CD-R Music CD's???
Last night I downloaded some data. I wanted to transfer the data to a disk. I then burned the data and all seemed well. It even showed up on my girfriend's computer just fine. But when I got home this morning, my computer couldn't read the info. Anyone know what's going on. BTW I wrote the info on a CD-R Music disc. Not totally sure if that's the problem.

I don't think tere is any difference between the music and data CD-R's. Possibly it didn't finish the burn or got scratched or somehting. Not totally sure.

IIRC, the CD-R music cd's have a key on them that non-computer CD-Rs use. Bascially, if you have one of those rare component rack cd-r burners, it *requires* that you use the music CDs or it won't burn. This is because RIAA sued the cd-r makers saying that cd-rs take away their business, so they get money for every "music" cd-r sold. Super LAME.
As far as usinf the "music" type cd-rs in a PC, I think they're supposed to be the same... it just that you paid RIAA to store your data!! :x I'd check the usual culprits: fingerpirnts, scratches, bad burns, etc. |
