Nearing 100k miles. Recommend me a mechanic?
So I'm getting pretty close to 100k miles on my '05 Impreza RS.
Any suggestions on an inexpensive & honest mechanic for replacing my timing belt? This one place near me quoted me a freakin boat load to do it so I'm hoping there are far better options out there. Thanks |
KSPEED! Club member owned and mechaniced.

We recommend doing the complete timing kit (belt, idlers, tensioner) and water pump when doing the 105k timing belt service. For the 2.5L SOHC engine it is $545 for parts and labor on all that.

ROCK ON MAN. Thanks so much! I'll give you guys a call soon :)

I'll vouch for KSpeed. They're good guys and they run an honest shop. $545 is a very fair price for a timing belt job.
And do the cam seals while you're in there. Kinda silly not to IMO. |
Cool. Thanks for the help!

+1 for KSpeed - They did a great job on my timing belt

I think we saved about a hundred on the wife's 30k, that's about 25% off dealer by having Kspeed do it. And they didn't get nasty grease all over her seats. She's happy. The car's happy. The wallets happy.
They've also done work on many/most that are members of this board. My STi could be considered a regular. Hell the frickin thkng is Matts old car lol. First mechanic I've ever fully trusted after one visit. |
Kspeed gets my vote!! Cory is a master with subarus, one of the only people in town I would trust to work on my car :)

Want to give a big shout-out to Kspeed. Took them just a few hours and I didn't get any call "Yeah....so it looks like we have to do this this and this so that will be an extra $900"
Fast honest work. Thank Matt!! |
