Sperry, good to know. A bunch of guys on WRXF run the HD in hot climates. They complain that it's hard to shift on cold mornings before the car warms up. I can't comment from personal experience...

Yep, the STI tranny is capable of holding 450whp + abuse. I've never heard of a failure. The axels to break from abuse, as you pointed out, though. I wish this was true of WRX's...much cheaper...

The only thing I'd add is a lot of people have tranny failures with their WRX...mostly from abusive launching and/or increasing the power beyond what the transmission...
