why drive by wire?

Why are so many cars using drive by wire throttle body/gas pedal setups? I searched a little and the only reason I could find was giving the computer control over the car to improve gas mileage....

wanted, hood w scoops please

As the title says , I'm looked for a 2.5rs or outback sport hood.Color does'nt matter. It has to be one with the scoop for my TMIC. I dont want to have to get it at the dealer and the junkyards don't...
