Huh, crazy. The spindle/strut assembly on the Mustang is pretty much identical, except it uses normal round bolts. The lower mounting hole fits the lower bolt snug, but the upper mount hole is larger diameter than the upper bolt by maybe a couple of millimeters, so there's some slop when the bolts are loose. This lets you adjust the spindle angle relative to the strut when it's loose. There's no problem with the slop though, you just get the spindle at the angle you want and then torque down the bolts - it's a ridiculously high torque, like 150ft*lbs or something like that IIRC, so the clamping load between the strut tabs & the spindle keeps it from moving. |
Same deal as mine, 'cept the bolts are camber bolts... and even w/ the required 162ftlbs it still moves. Go figure.
