The thread about the SubieClub forums over on NASIOC was pretty entertaining. I'll just copy what I said there to here:

As far as I can tell, the only difference between NASIOC and this SubieClub idea, is that NASIOC is self-sufficiently organized by its own members, while SubieClub offers to organize things for a fee.
So, for SubieClub to succeed, they need to demonstrate value. Show potential buyers they can do it better than the people that are already doing it solely for their love of the enthusiasts community. Their big problem is that they're going up against some well established people that run things pretty smoothly. WBM is huge and well orchestrated; the Mt. Hammy deal goes off pretty well; lots of people already have the access to tracks at reasonable prices through their own local means, people have always had local meets, BBQs, gatherings... Unless SubieClub is bringing the subaru equivalent of hookers and blow to their deals, they're not really offering any value for the cost of joining.
