So, what does NOC mean exactly?

Am I correct in thinking that I could swap a motor from a "4WD Turbo" or LGT in to an "Impreza NOC" legally?

Also, where are the updating/backdating rules? I've looked through the '08 Solo rule book as well as the GCR and I didn't find it.
NO

That is the update/backdate rule... You can change parts between cars that are within the same line.

NOC = Not Otherwise Classified or anything that meets this description that isn't already classified elsewhere.

So in this case, anything in a Legacy or LGT can be swapped into the same. The WRX and STI are defined elsewhere in SP, so Impreza NOC means any 2.5s pretty much.

In this case, "4WD Turbo (all NOC)" is going to mean the older turbos like the XT.

Often there are year ranges as well, so you can only swap within the years specified.
