There are plenty of references out there for modern engines that say the classic slow break in is dead. Run it at mixed RPMs at mixed power levels early is what I read from people in the know today.

Well... considering I'm 0/2 on motors that have had a "race break-in", I think a nice leisurely 1000-2000 miles at <4000 rpm seems like a better idea.
That said, (and back on topic) what group should I be running in, if I'm going to end up being a moving pylon out there for the fast cars? I've got no problem running off line in the advanced group to let folks pass anywhere on track, which is something I couldn't do in the novice group, so I'm thinking even if I'm off pace I'll have more fun in the advanced group as well as be less in the way.
Or I can just not come unless the motor's up to full song, but I'm guessing that Bonnie would rather have me than not even if my car's slow.
