Yes, I'll fix it for you. Again.

SECCS team dominates again!

Conditions were perfect, so there was no chance of switching to more wind-proof rifles. Brian shot his .17 Rem, and I shot my .22 Hornet. After the last relay, we compared notes, and I told Brian I figured that I had shot a 24, two less than his 26.

Imagine our surprise when we were both called to the line for a shootoff! The RO designated the targets as Crows, Standing. The drama continued when I mentioned that since I had given Brian a ride (halfway) to the match, that he should simply default to me. Of course that didn't fly, so the shootoff proceeded. I ended up winning after two tension-filled rounds.

It turned out that the shootoff was for High Overall, but neither won High Offhand or High Sitting. I had not kept close track of my score sheet, but I couldn't remember if I had actually hit 26 or not. I called the match director later and asked him to check the arithmetic on the score card, and sure enough, he had added the relays wrong in my favor.

So, Brian won High Overall without needing a shootoff, even though it was pretty fun to do it. We are still waiting for the scores to be posted, but I think I still got 2nd. GOOD JOB BRIAN keeping the club honor intact!

I had a great time shooting the new Hornet, and it performed a little better than I was hoping, knocking down most of my hits, including one coyote. I ended up loaning my go-to AR to a squadmate who was having ammo troubles, so it was a good thing I brought both.
