Yes, I know all the problems, that's why I'm gonna port the wastegate. I was more concerned with was there another route you guys would take?
I brought up the porting for Matt, since he seemed to think that waiting for a better engine mangement solution would somehow fix the boost creep issue.

As far as your email regarding Boost Control... the XEDE is the only setup I know of right now for the STi and it controls boost. I haven't heard about UTEC for the STi, but UTEC and XEDE are equivalent products, so it should be about the same, if not a little better since the UTEC stuff is more Subaur specific IIRC. The holy grail of course is the STi ECU reflash, that way you gain access to the AVCS parameters, and that's when we'll start to see some uber-badass STis!

So, I'd avoid a MBC or stand alone EBC. I think Vishnu's Stage 1 for the STi, plus a ported wastegate is the way to go right now, but it's tempting to wait a bit longer and see what's up with reflashes in the near future.

Also, I hear ESX is working on a Project STi, so it might be interesting to see what they come up with. It should be out at the Buttonwillow track day March 22... and if I see it before then, I'll let you know what I can find out.
