The way out is through
Default I just had a JC moment...

...and by "JC moment" I mean that I just did something totally irresponsible behind the wheel, but I'm cooler because of it.

I went through the drive-thru mail boxes at the S. Meadows post office to drop off some mail (SCCA membership renewal baby!) If you've been there, you know the exit is a right turn only into a turn-about. Right after the entrance to the turn-about, there's another exit from the post office. So as I enter the turn-about ande move to the inside left lane, some lady BLOWS through the stop sign as she's putting her seat belt on and careens right in front of me!

I slam the brakes to keep from nailing her (I should just hit her, but w/ a seat belt I prolly woulda sent her through the passenger side window). Then I get all pissed off by her AWFUL driving that I floor it in 2nd, move to the outside lane, and in true JC style, proceed to drift by her on the outside. Snow tires + wet turn-about = easy tail-out action. I was past her in an instant, and I think I must have scared her into slamming on the brakes because by the time I was out of the turn-about she was still only half way through!?

Stupid bad drivers.
1- put your seat belt on BEFORE you put the car in gear.
2- STOP at the goddamn stop signs... not "slow", not "blow through w/o looking", not "what stop sign? I was too busy putting my seat belt on"
3- enter a turn-about IN THE RIGHT LANE, then MOVE LEFT when there's no traffic, that's why there are 2 lanes!
4- Don't pass on the right in a turn-about while drifting your AWD turbo-charged car, it's less than safe.

All this reminds me of my previous trip to the post office... the lady in front of me [i]went the wrong way[i] through that turn-about. What is it w/ US drivers and turn-abouts... no other countries seem to have issues, and they're *much* better for traffic flow and saftey than intersections... assuming people don't drive like Americans.
