Yes, but that statistic was not particularly telling. Toyota Avalon was #1- but is that because it's that safe, or because no Avalon in the history of the world has ver exceeded the speed limit, nor gone around a corner as fast as the occupants of the next vehicle wish it would? Well, mostly because it's safer, but you guys get the idea about how driver demographics affect crash statistics. A WRX or Forester XT is an incredibly safe vehicle to be in during an accident, but the nature of those vehicles and the peole who drive them means they will never lead the way in any sort of safety-related statistic, unless someone figures out how to track accidents avoided altogether.
