I think that was the most stressful experience I have ever had behind the wheel and I have been in a number of white outs and sand storms, cars spinning in front of me on the track, etc...
Why the hell they did that instead of just cutting both directions down to 1.5 lanes is just crazy.
I can't imagine doing that in a big rig, much less with dual trailers.
I apparently had a CHP behind be for the whole distance as he passed me the second we escaped the walls of doom. It would be interesting to hear what he said about how I did. I never took a second to look back or right really. My only job was to keep the truck about 2 feet off the left wall. I figured if I did that, everything else would take care of itself.
Oh, and there was 1 HUGE pothole or drain or something on the right side that made me think I had hit the wall, but again, what are you going to do? You have nowhere to go, stopping means shutting down traffic and probably an accident...
