I am pretty sure as a teenage girl in the company of her friend(s), acknowledging a car as something other than a means to get to the mall or as "cute" when appropriate would be a terrible faux paux.
A comment like, "Oh, that is Cory's car! He is a good driver, and his car is a wicked fast autocross car that is almost as fast as the Turbo charged STIs and has this cool detachable steering wheel!" is not going to play well and likely to get her ostracized.
I kid... Actually, last I knew, many of Rachel's friends know she autocrosses and some have come out and ridden with her.
