The second basic intake ("Type 2") is shown below. It also comes in three MAF sizes:
  1. StockMAF calibration for cars making up to 350whp. On stock and off-the-shelf Stage 1 or 2 maps, tuning is not required but recommended for maximum performance and safety. Custom tunes should always be at least checked with any new modification. It took 4 prototypes to get this intake to duplicate the stock calibration.
  2. MegaMAF 73mm diameter for cars making up to 450whp. Tuning is absolutely required, but this CAI tunes very easily for a big MAF due to the location of the MAF sensor before the 30deg. bend.
  3. MegaMAF 83mm diameter for cars making up to 560whp. Tuning is absolutely required, but this CAI tunes very easily for a such a huge MAF due to the location of the MAF sensor before the 30deg. bend.

Other features include:
  • Heat Shield is standard and lowers intake temperature by 10-20 degrees.
  • Works with the TurboXS FMIC. Easy modification is required for the heat shield, but this will be an option soon.
  • High filter location eliminates typical-CAI worries about water ingestion. Just as safe as the factory intake in this regard.
  • Precision CNC-machined MAF Flange.
  • Beautiful welds done by local ASME-certified welders.
  • USA-made filter by S&B Filters. Similar but better than K&N in most ways.
  • Optional oil-free AEM DryFlow filter.
