Stockers are better for winter... you want lots of skinny tire on there in the snow... check out the 15"x4" rims the rally teams use at Sweden. Get some good studless snow tires for the stock rims, and you're set!

Remember, the stock Subaru rims are actually pretty light at about 15 lbs for a 16" rim. Plus they're really strong, and easy to find replacements for.
