On the topic of today's course, this was actually a copy of a course Scott and I put together about 4 or 5 years ago ("mini-suzuka"), but it was not originally set that tight, I see that they shortened the width (Grandstands to runway) about 50' narrower that what Scott and I used to set, so the tight turns felt extremely tight...
The best way I can describe a course that's set that tight is to compare it to a competitive kayak-er trying to paddle upstream to make a gate across the river. It all felt like you had to fight hard in the opposite direction to make the turns. So this just enhanced the under steer issue on the loose surface. Also, since everyone was plowing around so much, the surface was getting torn all to hell and graveling up even more. My tires took a beating today.
