I should be there to instruct. And with the WRX hopefully... I spend about 4 hours yesterday tuning it.
I think I've dialed out most of the nonsense... A lot of my issue with the car running lean after shifting under light throttle appears to have actually caused by the closed-loop mode trying to compensate/learn. After turning off closed-loop, the car was running much better, albeit a ton rich, since the fuel map is still essentially setup for an FPGreen at 22psi on a built motor rather than the GT52 at 16psi on a stock bottom end. I still have some fueling to pull out of the map, and the car still has some odd leaning-out issues when shifting, but I think it'll be good enough for the track next weekend if I can get another hour or two.
The only thing that sucks is that I'm tuning in 3rd gear between 2000 and 6000 rpm to keep it legal on the street. I really need access to a dyno... then again, my tuning skill is such that I take forever to make changes... so at $200/hr, I'm not exactly willing to drop the money on the 10 hours of dyno time I'd need to get the car tuned.
Anyway, I should be at the event!
