According to former Renault F1 team boss Flavio Briatore Mark Webber will win the 2010 Formula 1 championship this season. Briatore, who happens to be Webber's manager, has said that Webber is one of the most intelligent drivers at the grid currently.

“Mark my words,” Briatore warns in Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport. “Webber is on his way to win the championship this season. I'm not just saying this because he is one of my drivers, but because everyone who watches his races lately can see it. Mark is a driver who can deliver exceptional performances on track and shows he is extremely mature on track too.

“In Hungary he was the first driver to realise he could take a bit of a risk to race 75% of the race on the softer Bridgestone compound. That decision brought him his victory in Hungary. It just proves what an intelligent driver he is.”

Thanks to his victory at the Hungaroring Mark Webber now leads the Formula 1 championship with 161 points. Meanwhile, Red Bull leads the constructors' championship with 312 points, closely followed by McLaren.
This season should have been Vettel's championship season, except his bad luck early on with reliability opened the door for Webber, and Webber having been given the opportunity has simply out thought and out driven Vettel and the rest of the field on track. Vettel will eventually win a bunch of championships, but this season is Webber's IMO.
