I don't plan on buying another DVD player ever again either.
I probably don't even need to buy a DVD-ROM again too, for that matter. Disks are a dying technology. Even hard drives are available without disks now.
The idea of having to physically spin something in order to read data should be just as comical as the idea of using a reel of tape for the same job.
