I like Sprint currently. Haven't had a problem with their 3G here. One piece of advice I would give, though, is to not try to save a few bucks on a phone, if it locks you into a more expensive contract. Over time, its just not worth it financially.
If you include texting and data plans from other carriers, I believe Sprint is the cheapest and it is unlimited everything (compared to the reasonable limited plans). If you can live without a texting plan, then AT&T is cheapest I think but its been a while since I've looked into it.
Also, keep in mind that Sprint charges a $10 smartphone fee. It used to be just their 4G phones, but now its all smartphones, so be sure to add $10 to every Sprint plan you research online.
