Oh, heres a vid from the 23rd here in sac of me running: http://home.surewest.net/ddman/KostasAutoxMuffler.wmv

Anyone record any of the laps up there? I'm very curious what kind of courses they have a stead...
The course was quick, not American-AutoX quick, but pretty quick. Unfortunately for us WRX owners it was right between 1st and 2nd gear .

I'd say the average lap speeds were right around 49-50 seconds for the field. Since it was out on the airport tarmac, it was pretty large and spread out, and the racing surface was very nice asphault.

Course went like this (if this makes any ense to someone who wasn't there, I'll be amazed):

Start gate -> 100 deg right hander, long double apex left hand sweeper -> long, fast slalom -> tight 100 degree left hander -> fairly wide and fast right hand hairpin -> short straight into three 90 deg right handers (loop-de-loop) -> cross over the short straight -> 90 deg right hander -> 180 degree double apex lefthander -> shortstraight to left/right chicane -> end gate

It was a pretty fun course, but not quite open enough for me since I spent the day either avoiding the rev limiter in 1st or begging for boost in second. In the afternoon session, we ran the course in the opposite direction, which felt a bit faster because you could stretch the slalom into that right hand sweeper, keeping the speed up a little bit.

They also had a circular skidpad set up.

Oh, here's a pic of the track (not that it'll help much )

Hopefully by the next event I can come up with some way to safely mount my digital camera in car, since it takes pretty good short movies.
