When you're working on real high-profile/pressure projects sometimes it can be real nice to not be the one with your stamp on the drawings (and neck on the line), believe me.
I for one am glad I don't work in an industry where I need a P.E. license anymore...

For me it's more about legally being able to call myself an architect. If I stay with the company, there is a good chance I will never have to stamp a set of plans. There's only eight people in a company of about 400 that are allowed to stamp plans.
