I can't make more power in the WRX w/o a tranny upgrade. I'd rather upgrade the tranny 1st, rather than break it later.

6-speed gear ratios will also make my car *much* faster w/o having to even touch the motor. Especially the close ratio JDM gearset. As it is, the ratios used in the US 5-speed are designed to keep you out of boost to save gas and help emmisions. Since this is my track car... screw saving gas, and screw the environment... 1000 miles a year a 7mpg isn't gonna kill the spotted owl.

Plus, the SVX keeps asking me for a 5-speed swap, and guess what, the WRX 5-speed is as drop in as they come...
