Need some clarification here. Not sure if Boxer engines are different than other configurations..

These are on crankcase and/or valve cover breathers, right?

Blow by is only a potential contributornot to oil entering these passages, right?

It is/can be thrown there by internal moiving parts and manifold vs. case pressure differntials can move it during normal operation, right?
