I grew up on German cooking as my parents are from Bavaria! LOL! Well, that part of the WORLD any way.
My experience at that restaurant is that it is absolute dog shit. The owner could have that place packed if he gave a rip but I don't think he is interested in running a successful business.
Don't get me started on that place. It is an embarassement to the German culture to have that place named Bavarian anything.
The service is horrid and the quality of his food is worse. If you want good German you have to go to Tahoe City and visit the Pfeifer House. It is on the road between Tahoe City and Alpine Meadows, about 1/4 of a mile out of Tahoe City. This place rocks. The owner/chef's name is Franz! heh!
Joseph's on Plumb used to be more Germanic. Since his death it supposedly isn't as good, but I like it. They serve a pretty good goulash for lunch.
Franz's Backerei (sp) on the West side of town is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING. The deserts there are incredible. The wife picked up a black forest cake, went to the nearby wine store for a wine to compliment it and wow. Highly recommended.
I hadn't heard of the place in Sparks. Is it still there?
