Well there could be something to that if the alternator the designers had already selected for the car (for cost/vendor reasons for example) had spare amperage left over; then an electric A/C compressor wouldn't cost you any additional power, right? |
LOL... no the guy told me the compressor runs off the alternator, therefore "it doesn't take use power from the engine". I asked where the power came from... somehow he didn't make the connection that the motor turns the alternator. Oh and nevermind the belt that turns the A/C compressor clearly visible on the front of the motor.
