The soldier that was shot ended up tracking down the shooter (after an exchange) and administered first aid to the POS.
According to that article, the terrorist was using a 7.62x54R, which has basically the same power as a .308 Winchester (you know, the M60 round). The soldier must have had on a Level III vest with a plate to stop that bullet at such close range! Good thing the POS didn't go for a headshot.

I thought you were implying the "first aid" administered was return fire... but no, the guy that got shot
actually badaged up the sniper after he was captured.
It's nice to see our boys playing by the rules even after a sneaky bullshit sniper ambush. I hope while he was working on the guy, Pfc. Tschiderer made sure to point at the bullet in his vest and say "you missed".
