Well as most of you know my lil subie has like 120k miles on it, and recently I have noticed, especially when I am on Empty in my gas tank, some malodorous content. I know that that is typically the smell of a CatConv that is not functioning properly, but the thing is, it never does that when I have more than 1/8 of a tank. I am wondering if running on fumes or on E would contribute to the smell, or if its time to look at CVter Replacement.
And if I do go with a replacement, I dont really want to go back stock, but I dont want to go so far the other way either. Whats a good street in between system that I should be looking at?
