Well, you park a nearly new, excellent condition GC body next to a new GD body, then tell the world "the turbo Impreza is finally out" and you see what the general public thinks.
Remember, no on knew anything about Imprezas back then. Also, the sticker on the WRX I bought was $29.5k after the dealer markup. An '01 w/ a $24k sticker seems cheap.
