and btw, yes the stock BOV on the sti is loud enough for people to hear at least 50 yards away. if you are not going through the stock subaru silecner. I've been told you can do a simple (20 minute) mod so that the stock BOV - escapes directly to the atomosphere, instead of back into your air intake system. and that is suppost to really increase the noise from it. i think i like the noise level that i'm at though ...

You don't want to do that Man. The ECU expects the blow off to return to the intake and if it doesn't get it, you'll run rich between shifts. It's not a big deal or anything, but it's certainly not ideal. Most BOV's that work fairly well on Subarus are adjustable so you can do half atomospheric and half recirculating or somthing like that. The only mod I'd do to a stock valve is the one that allows it to hold more boost if you upgrade the turbo.
