You're saying the air filter will "wear out" faster at a higher temperature?
Also, what's a "frightening" temperature? I was pretty scared when I saw 1950*F on my EGT's... I guess I'd be scared if my air filter was at nearly 2000 degrees, but anywhere south of 200... not so much.
