That group is exactly the kind of people that perpetuate the ricer/”racer” culture. “Street” racing is getting out of hand. I don’t mean like kids getting pulled over and hauled off to jail. I mean I see more and more people driving like maniacs and they are not behind the wheel of a turbo import or dOmestic. Just the over day I was tailgated down a street close to my house to the point of insanity by a 4Runner. Finally the guys slows down and pulls a right into the 7eleven and I get stopped by a red light right there and he is getting gas so I roll down my window and yell “Is the speed limit not fast enough for you man?!” , and just flips me off. He was a foot from my bumper for like a block and a half, I was going 27 in a 25.
And this kind of stuff seems to be happening a lot more lately(like last 4 months for me). When I told you guy about the vette I “raced” down stead blvd(60 in a 45) nothing to crazy, no one else close, then up the on-ramp. So I will admit to being a bit of a hypocrite, but seriously I hardly ever speed. Going down Oddie from work everyday I’m not really in a hurry so I go the speed limit and I am passed with no abandon by 80 percent of the cars on the road.
I borrowed InitialD(doodle deee) from Scott. So every time I get in my car lately I want to try drifting onto 395 and McCarron. I am able to hold myself back but the aura I get lately from other drivers really gets to me. Maybe now that gas prices have plunged a bit people do not mind smashing the gas pedal and destroying there miles per gallon. Or maybe the job market is so malnourished everyone is frustrated because bills are piling up and they are driving their kids to soccer practice worried about paying the mortgage.
Either way be careful out there and god help us if they make a Fast and Furious 3.
